Marine Batteries Shipped to Lake Winnipesaukee, NH

Illustrated waterfront banner for New Hampshire

Lake Winnipesaukee is New Hampshire’s largest lake, about 72 square miles of water with more than 250 islands, at the center of the Lakes Region.

Boaters in Lake Winnipesaukee order from us online and we ship to them. Every lithium battery over $150 and every lead-acid or AGM battery ships free by curbside freight anywhere in the lower 48 states, and parts and chargers ship free on orders of $150 or more.

Lake Winnipesaukee waterways

Meredith Bay, Wolfeboro Bay, Alton Bay and Paugus Bay are the main harbors, and Weirs Beach is a busy waterfront. The M/S Mount Washington, a historic cruise ship, sails the lake. Public ramps and marinas serve the lake.

Ice-out on Winnipesaukee, usually in April, is an annual event. The boating season is short and busy, with summer weekends crowded on the big lake. The lake’s many islands and rocky shoals call for careful navigation, and the state requires a boating safety certificate for most operators.

Boats and fishing in Lake Winnipesaukee

Landlocked salmon, lake trout, smallmouth bass and watersports. Pontoons, wake boats and cruisers are common.

Choosing the right battery

Pontoons and party barges

A pontoon spends more time idling and anchored than running, so the engine has little chance to recharge the battery. Plugging in a charger after every trip, or switching to lithium with its faster charge acceptance, keeps a pontoon ready for the next evening cruise around Meredith Bay.

Ski boats and wake boats

Wake and ski boats on Lake Winnipesaukee run big stereos, ballast pumps and lights. A strong cranking battery plus a separate house battery for the audio system is the best setup.

Twin-engine and offshore boats

Offshore boats depend on their batteries more than any other boat on Lake Winnipesaukee: radar, sonar, chartplotters, livewells and VHF all draw power while drifting over a ledge. Size your house battery for a full day of electronics with the engines off, and keep it isolated from the cranking batteries with a switch or combiner. A multi-bank onboard charger keeps every battery topped up at the dock.

Climate, storage and winterizing in Lake Winnipesaukee

The lake freezes in winter. Charge batteries before storage.

The lake season is short and busy. Test batteries in spring before launch.

Northeast lakes freeze in winter, and boats come out in fall. Before storage, charge batteries fully and remove them or keep them on a maintenance charger. Standard lithium should not be charged below freezing.

Lake Winnipesaukee shipping FAQ

Do I need a heated lithium battery for Lake Winnipesaukee?

Only if you plan to charge in freezing weather. Standard lithium batteries should not be charged below 32°F. Batteries with internal heating, like several EPOCH models and the Dakota Lithium DL+ 135Ah, warm themselves before charging. For normal spring-to-fall use with winter storage, a standard lithium battery is fine.

Can you ship to my marina?

We can ship to most addresses, but marinas with restricted access or no way to receive freight may cost extra or need special arrangements. A home or business address is usually easiest. Contact us before you order if you want to ship to a marina.

How do lead-acid batteries ship?

Do chargers and accessories ship free?
