Mobile Marine Battery Service in Hillsborough County, FL

Hillsborough County wraps around the top of Tampa Bay, from Old Tampa Bay and Hillsborough Bay in Tampa to the east-shore canal towns of Apollo Beach and Ruskin. Inland it is full of lakes and rivers, so the county has as many bass boats as bay boats.
Tampa’s shoreline runs along Hillsborough Bay, Old Tampa Bay and McKay Bay, with public ramps at Picnic Island, Davis Islands and elsewhere. The Alafia and Little Manatee rivers give south-county boaters routes out to the bay, and E.G. Simmons Park and Cockroach Bay are local favorites for skiffs. East and north of Tampa, Lake Thonotosassa and the upper Hillsborough River are freshwater options. Many Hillsborough boats are trailered, which makes driveway installs the most common job here.

Town by town
Tampa. Tampa is a big city wrapped around two arms of a big bay, with a river running through downtown. Tampa is a snook and tarpon town: tarpon roll along the shipping channels and the bridges, and snook hang on dock lights and bridge shadows year round.
Apollo Beach. Apollo Beach is a canal community on the east shore of Tampa Bay, built so that a large share of its homes have a seawall and a dock. The east bay flats hold redfish, snook and trout, and the warm water near Big Bend draws fish in cold snaps.
Ruskin. Ruskin is where the Little Manatee River meets Tampa Bay. The flats around Cockroach Bay and the river mouth are known for redfish and snook, and trout on the grass.
Riverview. Riverview grew up along the Alafia River, which still gives this fast-growing suburb a direct water route out to Hillsborough Bay. The lower Alafia is known for snook in the winter when fish move up the river, and the river mouth and nearby flats hold redfish and trout.
Brandon. Brandon is not on the water itself, but it is full of boat trailers. A Brandon garage might hold a bass boat for freshwater tournaments and a bay boat for redfish and snook.
Thonotosassa. Thonotosassa takes its name from Lake Thonotosassa, one of the largest natural lakes in Hillsborough County, just northeast of Tampa. The lake has a history as a bass and specks lake, and anglers work the shoreline vegetation with trolling motors.

Battery care for Hillsborough County boats
Trailered boats that sit in hot driveways should be kept charged; heat and partial charge are what kill lead-acid batteries in this climate. Bay boats that spend hours on the trolling motor are good candidates for 36V lithium.
