Mobile Marine Battery Replacement in Apollo Beach, FL

Illustrated waterfront banner for Hillsborough County, Florida

Apollo Beach is a canal community on the east shore of Tampa Bay, built so that a large share of its homes have a seawall and a dock. Boats are part of everyday life here.

If your boat is in Apollo Beach, you don’t need to haul a 60-pound battery across a parking lot. We can install it at your dock, ramp or driveway. Installation is a flat $99 per battery ($249 for a 24V or 36V lithium bank); add it on the product page, or text (954) 743-0000 with questions. The $18 lead-acid core charge is waived when you book installation, because we take the old battery away.

Not sure what fits? Browse lithium, trolling motor or cranking batteries, or text us a photo of your current battery.

Where Apollo Beach boaters launch and cruise

The canals of Apollo Beach open straight onto the east side of Tampa Bay, with a short run to the main shipping channel and the Skyway. The TECO Manatee Viewing Center at the Big Bend power station, just south of the community, is famous for the manatees that gather in its warm-water outflow in winter. South of town, the Little Manatee River and Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve are favorite areas for skiffs and kayaks.

Boats and fishing on Tampa Bay east shore

The east bay flats hold redfish, snook and trout, and the warm water near Big Bend draws fish in cold snaps. Bay boats and flats skiffs are the norm, with center consoles running across the bay to the Skyway and Egmont Key. Canal-front pontoons get a lot of use for sunset trips.

Florida conditions and your battery

Canal boats are often left on lifts with accessories plugged in. A battery switch turned off between trips prevents a slow drain from a bilge pump float or a stereo’s memory.

Florida’s Gulf coast is hard on batteries for two reasons: heat and salt. Battery life drops quickly when a lead-acid battery sits above 90°F, and salt air corrodes terminals and cables. Sealed AGM and lithium batteries resist both better than flooded batteries, and none of them need water topping.

There is no real off-season here, so batteries work year round. The bigger risk is heat: a battery in a closed hull or a sunny driveway in July ages much faster than one kept cool. Charge after every trip, keep terminals clean and coated, and turn off the battery switch when the boat sits.

Choosing a battery for your Apollo Beach boat

Flats skiffs and bay boats

Most bay boats on Tampa Bay east shore run a 24V or 36V bow-mount trolling motor plus a separate cranking battery for the outboard. A 36V lithium bank, such as a single EPOCH 36V or Interstate 36V battery, replaces three Group 27 or 31 lead-acid batteries and drops well over 100 pounds from the stern, which helps a skiff float shallower. Keep the cranking battery separate so a long day on the trolling motor never leaves you unable to start.

Center consoles and offshore boats

Center consoles that run offshore from Apollo Beach usually have one cranking battery per engine plus a house battery for electronics, pumps and lights. For cranking, a Group 27 or 31 AGM with high marine cranking amps is the common choice. A lithium dual-purpose battery like the EPOCH 172Ah can serve as a house battery and an emergency start, and it weighs a fraction of an equivalent AGM.

Pontoons and tritoons

Pontoon owners in Apollo Beach often ask for more runtime for speakers and lights without giving up a reliable start. A 12V 100Ah lithium battery as a house battery, paired with a dual-purpose AGM for cranking, is a simple and popular setup. If you prefer one battery, choose a dual-purpose model with enough cranking amps for your outboard.
