Mobile Marine Battery Service in Sarasota County, FL

Sarasota County’s coast runs from Sarasota Bay and Lido Key south through Siesta Key, Osprey, Nokomis and Venice to Englewood and Lemon Bay. Inland, the Myakka River winds toward Charlotte Harbor.
Sarasota has busy public ramps at Ken Thompson Park and Hart’s Landing, a large downtown mooring field at Marina Jack and a string of passes: New Pass, Big Pass, the Venice Inlet and Stump Pass. Each part of the coast has its own character, from the sailboats and cruisers of downtown Sarasota to the fishing boats of Venice and the old Florida feel of Englewood. North Port, inland, is a freshwater and river town.

Town by town
Sarasota. Sarasota is a bay town first. Sarasota Bay’s grass flats are known for trout, redfish and snook, and the passes draw tarpon in summer.
Siesta Key. Siesta Key is famous for its quartz-sand beach, but the island also has a big boating community on its canals and the bay side. Big Pass and the beaches hold snook and tarpon in season, and the bays hold trout and redfish.
Osprey. Osprey is a quiet stretch of the mainland along Little Sarasota Bay, between Sarasota and Nokomis, with a lot of natural shoreline. The bay holds trout, snook and redfish, and the Intracoastal channel runs through it.
Nokomis. Nokomis sits on the north side of the Venice Inlet, with Casey Key across the bay and a lot of boat traffic heading out to the Gulf. The Venice Inlet jetties hold snook, redfish and sheepshead, and the Gulf beyond holds grouper and snapper.
Venice. Venice calls itself the shark tooth capital of the world, but boaters know it for the Venice Inlet and an easy run to the Gulf. Offshore, Venice boats run for grouper, snapper and amberjack, and closer to shore, kingfish and tarpon show up seasonally.
Englewood. Englewood is an old Florida fishing town on Lemon Bay, with Manasota Key between the bay and the Gulf. Lemon Bay is known for snook, redfish and trout, and Stump Pass and the beaches see tarpon in summer.
North Port. North Port is the largest city in Sarasota County by area, with a lot of inland water: the Myakka River, Myakkahatchee Creek and many canals. The lower Myakka holds snook and tarpon in its brackish reaches, and bass in its freshwater stretches.

Battery care for Sarasota County boats
In Sarasota’s heat, sealed AGM and lithium batteries outlast flooded ones. For offshore boats, keep cranking and house circuits separate. For boats that sit for weeks, lithium’s low self-discharge helps.
