Lead-acid batteries have powered boats for generations, and for many boaters they’re still the practical choice. They cost less upfront than lithium, they work with almost any existing charger and alternator, and they’re available in every common size. Today’s marine lead-acid batteries come in three main types, and AGM marine batteries are the most popular upgrade. Flooded batteries are the traditional, serviceable design. AGM (absorbed glass mat) batteries are sealed and spill-proof, and they need no watering. EFB (enhanced flooded) batteries sit between the two.
This collection includes deep-cycle, starting and dual-purpose lead-acid batteries from Trojan and Interstate. You’ll find 12V marine batteries in Group 24, 27, 31, 34 and 4D/8D sizes, plus Trojan’s 6V deep-cycle batteries, including AES AGM models, for building heavy-duty 12V and 24V house and trolling banks.
Each product page lists the manufacturer’s specs, including CCA or MCA where they apply, along with dimensions and weight. Prices and stock are confirmed in your cart. We ship nationwide and install anywhere from Venice to Gainesville, FL, including help choosing between AGM, flooded and lithium.

Flooded batteries have liquid electrolyte that you can inspect and top up with distilled water. They’re economical and forgiving, and they’re widely used for deep-cycle house and trolling banks, especially as 6V pairs. They need to be mounted upright in a ventilated space, because they release gas while charging. Plan on checking the water levels regularly.
AGM batteries hold their electrolyte in glass-mat separators, so they’re sealed, spill-proof and need no watering. They tolerate vibration well and can often be mounted in more positions; check the manufacturer’s guidance. They usually cost more than flooded batteries, and they’re sensitive to over-charging, so use a charger with a proper AGM profile.
Enhanced flooded batteries add design improvements for better cycling durability than standard flooded batteries, at a lower cost than AGM.

Match the BCI group size to your tray or box, and check terminal type and position. Our BCI group size guide explains codes like 24M, 27M and 31M. Set your charger to the correct profile for the battery type. Flooded, AGM and lithium each charge differently, and a wrong profile shortens battery life. You’ll find compatible chargers in Chargers.
Usually, yes, if the size and terminals fit. Set your charger, and any adjustable charging source, to the AGM profile.
No. Batteries in a bank should be the same type, model and age.
Two 6V deep-cycle batteries in series make 12V. Many boaters choose them for their heavy-duty deep-cycle construction where space allows.
