This Dakota Lithium 12-volt, 640 Ah lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery is built for combined starting and deep-cycle service and house loads such as electronics, lighting and pumps. At roughly 121 lb, it takes meaningful weight out of the boat compared with a lead-acid battery of similar usable capacity. Internal heating protects the cells while charging in freezing weather. Pair it with a charger that offers a LiFePO4/lithium charge profile.
