Choosing Interstate marine batteries
Starting batteries

Dual purpose
Interstate’s AGM and flooded dual-purpose batteries start the engine and run accessories. They’re a strong fit for boats with one battery, or two batteries on a switch. AGM versions are sealed and maintenance-free. Compare options in Dual Purpose.
Deep cycle and trolling
For trolling motors and house loads, choose a deep-cycle flooded or EFB battery, or go lithium. Interstate’s native 24V and 36V lithium batteries replace two or three 12V batteries in a single Group 31M case, which simplifies wiring and saves weight. AGM, EFB, flooded or lithium?
- Flooded: economical and proven. It needs ventilation and periodic watering.
- EFB: an enhanced flooded design with improved cycling durability.
- AGM: sealed, spill-proof and vibration-resistant, with no watering needed.
- Lithium: much lighter, with deep usable capacity and steady voltage. It needs a lithium-compatible charger.
