Allied Lithium is best known for lithium batteries for golf carts and other electric vehicles. Its waterproof lithium battery chargers are also useful for boaters running high-voltage lithium systems. Allied Lithium chargers are built to charge LiFePO4 batteries, and their sealed housings stand up to damp, splashy environments like a boat’s battery compartment.
We currently carry Allied Lithium’s 36V and 48V waterproof lithium battery chargers. The 36V model is a fit for native 36V lithium trolling motor batteries, and the 48V model is for 48V lithium systems, such as larger trolling motors and electric propulsion setups. Before you choose, confirm that your battery’s voltage and chemistry match the charger. Then check the battery manufacturer’s maximum charge current and any recommended charger settings.
Each product page lists Allied Lithium’s published details. We ship nationwide, and we install charging systems anywhere from Venice to Gainesville, FL. For other charging options, including multi-bank and DC-DC chargers, browse our full Chargers collection.

Are Allied Lithium chargers right for your boat?
Allied Lithium’s chargers make the most sense when:
- you run a single native 36V or 48V lithium battery, such as a 36V trolling motor battery;
- you want a sealed, waterproof charger that can live on board;
- your battery manufacturer approves a charger of this voltage and output for its battery.
If your 36V bank is three 12V batteries in series, a multi-bank 12V charger that charges each battery separately may be the better match. See wiring a 24V or 36V trolling motor setup for the differences.
Matching charger to battery
Voltage
A 36V charger is for a 36V battery or pack, and a 48V charger is for 48V. A mismatched charger won’t charge correctly and can be unsafe. Check the battery’s nominal voltage on its product page.
Chemistry
These chargers are designed for lithium (LiFePO4) batteries. Don’t use them on lead-acid or AGM batteries. Read charging lithium on a boat to see why charge profiles matter.
Charge current
Charge current determines how quickly the battery refills. Stay within your battery manufacturer’s maximum recommended charge current. A rough recharge time is the battery’s amp-hour capacity divided by the charger’s current, plus some extra for the finishing stage.
Connectors
Check how the charger connects to your battery or charging port. Some golf-oriented chargers use specific plugs, so plan your connection and fusing, or have it installed. Wiring kits and charging leads are in Accessories.
Installation tips
- Mount the charger where it’s ventilated and protected from direct spray, even though it’s waterproof.
- Route AC power through a proper marine shore-power inlet or a GFCI-protected outlet.
- Fuse the DC output near the battery as specified.
- Keep connections clean and protected from corrosion. See saltwater corrosion prevention.

Allied Lithium charger FAQ
Will an Allied Lithium charger work with other brands’ lithium batteries?
It can, if the voltage, chemistry and charge settings match and the battery maker approves. Check both manufacturers’ guidance.
Can I charge three 12V batteries in series with the 36V charger?
Some setups allow it, but many battery makers recommend charging each 12V battery individually. Follow your battery manufacturer’s instructions.
Is the charger safe to leave on board?
It’s built to be waterproof, but mount it securely and follow the installation instructions.
Do you install chargers?
Yes, anywhere from Venice to Gainesville, FL. See local installation.
